John Matuszak was the first pick in the first round of the 1973 NFL Draft.... but most people simply know him as Sloth, the scary-come-lovable hero of the 80s classic film The Goonies.

John spent 10 years in professional football playing for the Houston Oilers, Houston Texans (WFL), Kansas City Chiefs, Washington Redskins, and the Oakland/Los Angeles Raiders.

His makeup took 4 hours to apply, and in certain scenes Sloth is wearing an Oakland Raiders shirt.

He was also a two-time Super Bowl champion. Sadly, John died on June 17, 1989 at the age of 38. Rest in peace, you Goonie.
