What you see here is one of the oldest known footballs in existence. It was used in the second ever Harvard-Yale game. It was spotted by Fancred member Kelly Slater at a museum in Boston.
The placard reads...
Oldest Known Football?
Yale defeated Harvard for the first time on November 18, 1876, in only the second meeting of the historic rivalry. This ball, one of the oldest known footballs still in existence, was preserved to commemorate Yale’s 1-0 “rugby” victory.
